Freight charges have been pre loaded based on the Australia Post post code system and equate to the following.

Goods are insured to a value of $300 per case + the cost of the freight. If you require additional insurance please call cellar door for costs.

2010 Shingleback Unedited Shiraz

Deep, velvety black cherry in colour. Brooding dark mulberry aromas are spiked with sprigs of orange blossom, star anise and a “wet slate” minerality. A compote of dark berries and the rich, chewy fruit tannins that come from the perfectly ripe Shiraz skins and seeds flood the palate, tantalize the senses and linger enticingly. Minimal winemaker input and maturation in 6 year old oak barrels ensure that this wine is a powerful, full-bodied representation of the rich clay soils in which the vines are grown.

2011 Shingleback D Block Reserve Shiraz

Deep black cherry red. Lifted primary aromas of ripe blackberry and dark cherry are enhanced by hints of milk chocolate and summer herbs. The full-bodied palate overflows with dark berry fruit, with nuances of Dutch licorice, bay leaf and a wet slate minerality. A perfectly balanced and seamlessly integrated wine that expresses the essence of the vine, the time, the place and the harsh, black cracking clay over limestone soils that make up this unique corner of the Davey Estate Vineyard vineyard.

Deep garnet-purple. Seductive aromas of blackcurrant, earth, espresso and minty chocolate entice. A Cabernet Sauvignon with presence and understated authority, displaying a finesse and delicacy stemming from the cooler vintage conditions.

2013 Shingleback Kiss me Kate Chardonnay

Pale straw in colour. Delicious aromas of white fleshed peach, pear and the savoury notes of roasted cashew entice. A full bodied Chardonnay that coats the palate with a harmonious balance of fruit, oak and alcohol. With the majority of the fruit fermented in barrel, the use of multiple strains of yeast and 4 months on lees in French oak, a creamy, cashew complexity enhances the stone fruit and lemon tart flavours.

Shingleback "Black Bubbles" Sparkling Shiraz

Deep garnet in colour with vibrant magenta bubbles. Aromas of concentrated blackcurrant with hints of liquorice, spice and dark cherries. Creamy bubbles and luscious sweetness envelop the plump blackberry mid-palate, which is enhanced with hints of savoury development. The long sweet fruit finish is balanced with fine tannin and acidity.

2012 Shingleback Local Heroes Shiraz Grenache

Satsuma plum coloured. The Shiraz, grown on loamy clay, contributes raspberry, blackberry and spice to the blend, whilst the hand-picked, old bush vine Grenache (grown on deep sand over clay) adds a potpourri of perfumed roses and savoury notes. Small batch open fermentation and maturation in older oak ensures the proven synergy of these two, equally matched, McLaren Vale Local Heroes.

Medium garnet in colour. Aromas of ripe black cherries, mulberries and a hint of lavender infused milk chocolate entice. The mid-palate lusciousness of the Merlot is defined into the lingering finish by the structural elements of the Cabernets. There is a delicious and tantalizing balance between the sweet fruit and savoury elements in Triumvirate, crafting an irresistible blend.

2013 Shingleback Late Harvest Semillon

A small section of Semillon on the Davey Estate was netted to protect the grapes as they ripened and concentrated late into the season. The shrivelling and lightly botrytis affected bunches were hand harvested and whole bunch pressed to release their concentrated nectar for fermentation. When the desired alcohol level was reached the ferment was chilled and filtered to retain a luscious natural sweetness.

The enticing marmalade and lime conserve flavours make this “sticky” perfect to drink chilled with dessert or a cheese platter.

2012 Shingleback Vintage Fortified Shiraz

In the outstanding 2012 vintage a couple of special rows of Davey Estate Shiraz were left to concentrate until late in the season. At the optimum designated moment of fermentation, grape spirit was added to lock in the sweetness and preserve the wine.

This fortified Shiraz will reward careful cellaring. The sweet dark compote of fruit flavours is enhanced with the spirit warmth, matching beautifully with coffee and chocolate or a selection of cheeses.

Delicate coral pink in colour. Aromas of freshly picked summer raspberries and strawberries are pierced with fragrant lemon rind. Nuances of rose petals and a hint of dusty minerality tease the senses. A compote of red berry flavours flows over the finely textured palate which is defined by a lingering natural acidity and savoury moreishness.

Light straw with green tints. The lifted fragrances are redolent of guava, candied pineapple, lemongrass and citrus blossom. 2014 Red Knot McLaren Vale Chardonnay

Pale straw in colour. Enticing aromas of white peach, apple and lime zest with subtle shades of roasted cashew oak and a talcy minerality tempt. The fresh flavours of nashi pear and apple are balanced by a hint of creaminess, flowing through the mid-palate and lingering on the finely textured finish. A medium bodied Chardonnay crafted to have wide appeal and be enjoyed on any occasion.

2014 Red Knot McLaren Vale Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre

Cherry red. Lifted aromas of freshly picked summer strawberries and red roses are given depth with nuances of chocolate earth. A bright salad of summer berries shines on the lively, medium weight palate.The luscious Grenache is complemented and structurally enhanced by the darker berry flavours and ripe tannins of the Shiraz and Mourvèdre, offering immediate appeal. Glorious in its youth, with age the wine will develop an attractive, savoury complexity.

Winemaker’s Note – serve lightly chilled in the heat of summer.

2014 Red Knot McLaren Vale Shiraz

Deep red with purple hues. Primary aromas of ripe, sweet strawberry and blackberry are laced with notes of summer roses and hazelnut milk chocolate. Luscious dark berry fruits flow across the palate and are channeled into the long, lingering finish by soft, chewy tannins and a fine minerality.

Medium – deep red with purple hues. Blackberry, briar and dark chocolate aromas are enhanced by alluring violet notes.
