Kay Lane 'COLLECTION"
I was born in Narrogin, Western Australia in the 1950's and raised on a farm at Cuballing with my three brothers and sister. There I was given the freedom to explore and appreciate the beauty of nature. I moved to Perth after completing year 12 to study at Caremont Teachers College with the intention of becoming an art teacher, however decided to pursue a career in the R.A.A.F. Psychology Service in Melbourne.
After 6 years in the R.A.A.F. I moved to Adelaide. There I raised two children and became very involved in their schooling at Moana Primary School, Most of my time was spent assisting voluntarily with art classes and concert productions.
I have enjoyed being involved in a variety of other activities with the emphasis on art. These include life drawing, silk painting, silver jewellery making, murals, costumes and props for theatre and ballet companies, theatre sound and lighting, floats for bushing festivals and now belong to a craft group where I embroider Hardanger. Sewing is also one of my passions.
I have successfully exhibited at Blackwood, Christies Beach, Noarlunga and the Royal Adelaide Show.
Art has always been an important facet of my life. My mother is a fine artist and my father was also creative. I have been drawing, painting and creating since I can remember and always will.
