2008 Red Knot McLaren Vale Chardonnay - Zork closure
"Quite toasty, rich and varietal bouquet, with generous stone fruit; clean and well made."
James Halliday, Austraiian Wine Companion 2010
"One of the value range from Shingleback, this is unoaked with a 10% dash of perky semillon, quite fruity with plenty of lime juice over melon flavour and a fair smattering of citrus rind at the back end of the palate. It is easy drinking, youthful and chirpy."
Tony Love, The Advertiser, May 27, 2009
"John has held off on the oak in his Red Knot Chardy and it makes for a crisp, refreshing wine. Loads of mineral, citrus and orchard fruits on the nose with sweet tropical fruits bordering on lush - great flavours with a snappy, clean finish."
Daenna Van Mulligan, Wine Diva, Canada, June 2009
Tasting Note
Light straw in colour. Fragrant melon, peach and lime peel dominate the fresh, fruit driven nose. Zesty citrus and stone fruit flow over the palate. A medium - full bodied unoaked Chardonnay with softness and a finely balanced fresh acidity. This wine can be enjoyed in its youth.
