2014 Red Knot Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon

"Matured in or with French and American oak. Shingleback can't put a foot wrong, even with this fighting varietal second label, representing obscenely good value in the context of its region and variety. Scoops of blackcurrant fruit open and close proceedings, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla filling the mid-palate. 90 pts."

Reprinted with permission from James Halliday. Tasted 14th February 2015

"Medium garnet/purple, the 2014 Red Knot Cabernet Sauvignon has fresh black and red currant aromas with menthol, yeast extract and bay leaf hints. Medium-bodied with nice expression, freshness and chewy tannins, it is well balanced and has good length on the finish."

Lisa Perotti-Brown, The Wine advocate #220

Tasting Note:

Medium – deep red with purple hues. Blackberry, briar and dark chocolate aromas are enhanced by alluring violet notes. The core blackberry flavour is defined by a fine frame of cedar oak and a fresh, balanced, natural acidity. A medium bodied wine with a lingering finish, showing harmonious integration of its fruit, structural and subtle oak elements.
